Cudgewa Bluff Falls is also within the Burrowa-Pine Mountain National Park and is one of the area's best kept secrets. Parking is now approximately 100m from the Falls themselves, however for those with limited mobility a key may be obtained at the Information Centre to give closer access. Take a drive to Embery's Lookout on top of Mt Mittamatite and take in the view of Corryong with the Australian Alps as your backdrop. Mt Lawson State Park is only a short drive away. The Museum features the history of Jack Riley of "Man from Snowy River" fame. Jack was the head stockman at Tom Groggin Station when he was visited by AB "Banjo" Paterson who shortly thereafter penned the now famous poem "The Man from Snowy River" (1890). Jack Riley is buried in the Corryong Cemetery. The Museum also houses a unique collection of ski memorabilia and other local history. |
