Bremer Island When visiting the Wilderness Retreat there sometimes can be as many as five new turtle nests appearing every week on the small beach in front of our camp. There are many smaller uninhabited islands that can be seen from Bremer and these islands are home for large populations of sea birds which feed off the bounty of these fish rich waters. The local population of approximately 25 Aboriginal people live at Gutjangen Settlement 2 km south of the Wilderness Retreat. What Our Clients Say about the Experience Hi Trevor We have been home a couple of weeks now and it seems a long time since we were relaxing on Bremer Island at your wonderful Banubanu Wilderness Retreat. It was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip and we thank you for your great food, hospitality and care during our stay. We loved the tents with their individual seclusion and being able to lay awake watching the stars. The moonlit walk along the beach was magic as was the beachcombing in the daytime. It was a privilege spending time at the Community and meeting Luk Luk and the other residents and we thank you for taking us there. Trevor, our brief but magical stay on Bremer will stay with us as one of our very special life experiences. |
