The NSW Maritime Authority and the NSW Boating College remind all recreational boaties that it is the experience gained in a variety of conditions that will develop skill, competence, awareness and confidence on the water. NSW Maritime Boat Licence Test was made more difficult in October 2005 and it is fair to say that the failure rate has increased for applicants attending a boat licence test without proper preparation. Dangers at sea More & more people are being attracted to the water where more and more recreational boats are appearing of all shapes and sizes. Too many people are oblivious to the 'dangers at sea', drawn by the romance of the clear blue waters, white sands and long sunny days on the NSW Coast and Inland Waters. Boating offers a means of relaxation from otherwise busy and hectic lifestyles. Protect your assets Water Sports including Fishing, Diving, Sailing, Skiing, Kayaking and Cruising are increasingly involving a major expense in terms of assets and equipment. A medium size family run about can be worth the price of a motor car these days and go as fast! Family Safety We encourage all people new to the boating industry to come along as a family and experience the basic training. Over the last 5 years more people are opting for training through a Registered Training Organisation to ensure that they have the basics in place for the safety of family and friends on the water. |
