| The South Australian division of the Australian Anglers Association was formed in the 1950's and is made up of affiliated fishing clubs throughout South Australia. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of alternate months commencing at 8:00pm at State Association House in Adelaide with the Annual General Meeting held in April of each year. The Association conducts five Championship events each year and every ten years is host to a national fishing convention for Australian, New Zealand and even South African Angling Associations. The 2001 Convention was held in Kangaroo Island and was an outstanding success both in organisation and angling results. The Association also has an important contribution to the management of South Australian fishing resources through its membership of the South Australian Recreational Fisheries Advisory Council (SARFAC).
